Review of the Antop HD Smart Bar Amplified Indoor TV Antenna AT-500SBS

And today I'm going to be reviewing the Antop HD Smartbar Amplified TV antenna

Now if you follow my blog, disablemycable.com, or if you've seen my other videos, you know that I recommend the Mohoo Leaf flat antenna for most people

This is a great antenna. It works great for me. I live about 20 miles from my TV transmitters, and I get over 100 channels

with this flat, indoor unamplified antenna. Now, I will say you'll get the most channels

under any circumstances if you use a rooftop outdoor antenna. But if you're not able to do that

you live in an apartment, or you just want the hassle of installing an outdoor antenna

then I like the Moho Leaf if you live near your transmitter towers

Now, you can check that by going to disablemycable.com, go to the station finder and there a tool that will tell you how far your channels are and how strong your signals are Now having said that there a few things that really got me excited about the Antop HD Smartbar antenna

First of all, it's an amplified antenna, and most amplified antennas that I tested against the Moho Leaf actually didn't do as well as the Moho Leaf

This one did do as well as the Moho Leaf in my situation, which is with the Moho Leaf, which is with

strong signals. Now, you wouldn't expect an amplified antenna to do any good when you have

strong signals in your area, but it did for me. I also like the fact that the Antop HD smart

bar is a big antenna, and this is probably to pick up VHF signals. So it's large, and a large

antenna will get you those VHF channels better. I also like the mounting options

So it comes with a floor stand. So you can mount it vertically on your floor Or you can mount it on a wall and it got mounting brackets on the back here so you can mount it vertically or horizontally on a

wall so in some ways it's got more mounting options than a flat antenna because

you can just put it on the floor in the middle of your room and so that might

actually get you some benefits as well this antenna also has an LTE filter. And what that does is filters out cell phone interference

That could be helpful to you if you live near a cell phone tower. And with so many towers out these

days, that could affect a lot of people. Another thing I like about the HD Smartbar antenna is that

the amplifier is built into the antenna itself. So the amplifier is right next to the antenna

where you want it The other thing I like and this won benefit everyone but it kind of a cool feature is that the power module has two antenna outputs So you could actually use this one antenna for two TVs or you could send the second output to like a tableau if you want to use your TV tuner on your main TV and you want to use your tableau to watch on your smartphone or something like that

It also has a power selector, a power control so that if you do have strong signals in your area, you can dial this down and kind of something to experiment with

So there's a lot of great features in this antenna. To sum up, I would recommend the Antop HD Smartbar

if you live in an area with weak TV signals and you want to try to pick those up

Otherwise, the Moho Leaf is really great if you live in an area with strong TV signals

If your signals are very weak, then I would go with an outdoor TV antenna

That will always get you the most channels. But for those people who can't go with the outdoor antenna
